The Friends of Crompton Moor was set up as an proactive group, completely independent of Oldham Council, due to serious concerns about the way the council and the Crompton Moor Project Management Board was behaving.
The group broadly consists of dog walkers, walkers, horse riders, residents, cyclists, those interested in wildlife and environmental issues, and any who wish to have a voice in the future of Crompton Moor.
Whilst largely agreeing with the aims and objectives set out by CMUG, the Friends feel that there are important issues on the moor that need attention before major new projects are started.
Since it’s first meeting in March, the group has been formally constituted and meets regularly at the Park Inn on Buckstones Road.
If you have any doubts about the proposals being put forward to develop Crompton Moor, the Friends group is probably the best place to get involved.
